SOLVQUOT.EXE was written to assist the Cryptoquote solver in completing a crypted quote without the need for pencil and paper. It also provides a fast way of changing letters without error. USER GUIDE : Command Line : SOLVQUOT [/Q=QUOTENAME] [/M] [/?] /Q = Name of previously saved quote /M = Use Monochrome Mode /? = Help Function Keys in use : Active During F1 = Help Screen Enter Quote, Solve Quote F2 = Registration Screen Enter Quote, Solve Quote F3 = Clear Current Letter Settings Solve Quote F7 = Save Quote to current directory Solve Quote F10 = Re-Edit Quote Solve Quote Enter Quote Phase : To use, you first type in the crypted quote. A tally of used letters is displayed for the users convenience. There are 8 lines of 64 letters per line (which is sufficient for the longest quote). You may use the cursor keys to maneuver the cursor around the screen. The PAGE_UP key will take you to top left hand corner. The PAGE_DOWN key will take you to the bottom right hand corner. When you have finished entering in the quote, press HOME to start the solving stage. Solve Quote Phase : The solving stage does not automatically solve the quote for you in any way! That would take the fun out of it. The cursor is positioned in the letters box. You use the cursor key to move the cursor to the desired letter to change and type in the new letter. Capital letters will then be substituted for the lower case letters. A non-used letters list is displayed at the bottom of the screen. After solving the quote, you press the HOME key if you want to start on another quote, or press the ESCape key to end the program (the ESCape key may be pressed at any time to end the program). !!
